Shavon Prophet, Advisory Board Member, Massachusetts Center for Employee Ownership, Senior Development Representative, Obran Cooperative

Shavon Prophet is a business advisor for the greater good specializing in shared ownership models and social entrepreneurship. She is a passionate advocate for business, capital, and community development strategies that advance economic and racial justice. During her tenure at the Massachusetts Center for Employee Ownership (MassCEO), she was one of only two people of color in the United States in a role of its kind. This fall, Shavon was appointed by Governor Maura Healey to serve on the Advisory Board of MassCEO. She has helped hundreds of business owners explore succession planning and employee-led buyouts, with a special focus on worker cooperatives.

A wide variety of courses, including Finance, Strategy, Introduction to Business, Entrepreneurship, Organizational Behavior, Community Development, Sociology or Labor Studies, would benefit from her knowledge. Her pronouns are she/her.
